I know Verizon phones don't use SIM cards so how do I switch phones for Verizon without cancelling my contract

Can someone help me out? I'd really like to get the LG VX10000 or the Blackberry Pearl when theyre available. I know Verizon doesnt use SIM cards....so is my only option to buy a phone from ebay and activate it online? Does that cost money?

I know Verizon phones don't use SIM cards so how do I switch phones for Verizon without cancelling my contract
Last year I bought a phone on eBay, to activate I had to call Verizon, and give them the serial number, and some other information and then they programmed the phone. I tried to do it on-line but it didn't work for some reason. However it was super easy to switch phones, one phone call and about 10 minutes while it programmed. There was no charge and I

didn't have to change my contract. It might be different for you because you may have a different contract, but I have one of the most basic plans they offer and there was no activation fee or other charges associated with switching phones.

As far as the SIM card goes, if you had one it would basically transfer your information (stored numbers, text messages, pictures etc.) when you took it out of one phone and put it in another. So without a SIM card there is another option to switch your contacts without having to type them all back in yourself. If you go to the Verizon website, click on tools and applications and find the backup assistant, you download all your contacts to the website and upload them to your new phone, it may cost you a $1.99 but it might be worth it if you have a ton of contacts. I hope this helps.

Reply:Well, for my opinion verizon wirelless socks, but you can change phones, you just have to pay a little for activation, go to any verizon authorized dealer and then poof, they change phones(But you gonna have to pay)
Reply:You can change phones on verizon plan by going to the website to activate a new phone. If that doesn't work you can also call and they will do it for you. It does not cost to do this and your plan remains the same. You will have to re-enter your contacts on your new phone though.
