Is it true that Nextel and Boost Mobile SIM cards are interchangeable?
My Motorola i670 (Nextel) sucks, so I wanted to switch my SIM card and battery into a Motorola i855 (Boost). They are both walkie-talkie phones, so are the switchable? I need a walkie talkie phone for my job so don't tell me that they suck.
Is it true that Nextel and Boost Mobile SIM cards are interchangeable?
They are interchangeable but be aware of the possibility that not all features of the phone will work properly if at all. Although they work similarly, our phones require specific MODELS of sim cards and customers are advised against sim swapping as that voids your manufacturer's warranty as well.
Reply:yes

Where to buy prepaid sim cards in China?
Hi, my friend is going on exchange to China for a few months. My friends and I plan to give him a cell phone (he doesn't have one) as a gift. The phone is unlocked already. I was wondering where to buy prepaid sim cards in China? just simply at China Mobile or China Unicom stores? and refill where? convenience stores?
i couldn't find any info on those network's sites? a link with more info would be much appreciated.
Where to buy prepaid sim cards in China?
You can buy it right in the airport there are little booths. I'd recommend China Mobile. I use them and have no problems. Also, most vendors are friendly and will even activate the card for you and test it while you wait.
Beware of one thing though, your friend should buy the card with a phone number of the area he is living in. So if he is going to Shanghai, he shouldn't buy a Beijing SIM card at Beijing Capital Airport or all of his calls in Shanghai will be long distance calls "to Beijing" and cost much more. Sort of like "roaming" used to be in the US.
Reply:You can get them almost anywhere, but I suggest don't buy them from China mobile or China unicom as they will charge you a lot more.
You can buy from from little convenience stores, although he will have to buy top up card. These will be cheaper.
It will be better if he knew someone Chinese to help him..
Reply:basically almost everywhere.
but becareful, lots of fake stuff i china nowadays

The process of switching sim cards in between phones?
Ok so pretend i have two phones, one from t-mobile and one from at%26amp;t. I get the sim card from the at%26amp;t phone and put it in the t-mobile and get the t-mobile card and put it in the at%26amp;t phone. So what would I have to do if I turn on both of the phone? Will it just work? Do I need to adjust anything?
The process of switching sim cards in between phones?
Well, the phones need to be unlocked. You can unlock them through various online services or, if available, software online. Depending on your standing and the policy of each provider you can call and have the phones unlocked. With T-mobile the policy is 1 unlock code per 90 days of good standing service. With AT%26amp;T you should just try calling and asking. I'm not sure if they have a similar policy or not.
Reply:No it won't work.
The only way it will work is if both phones are unlocked. Which means they are not locked to a service provider. Then it wouldn't matter which sim card you put on the phone, it will just work with whatever carrier the cell phone would be.
check out ebay for unlocked mobile phones.
aloha~
Reply:on an unlocked phone yes on a locked phone no you will need to unlock it first

What do sim cards do to mobile phones?
I know you need one for it to work, but say you have a phone with a camera and video and you just want them to work, does the sim card make them work but does nothing to the calls and messages if you don't go with any phone plan?
What do sim cards do to mobile phones?
Ok Here it goes ,Sim Stands for Subscriber Identity Module. SIM is part of a removable smart card ICC (Integrated Circuit Card), also known as SIM Cards, for mobile cellular telephony devices such as mobile computers and mobile phones. SIM cards securely store the service-subscriber key (IMSI) used to identify a subscriber. The SIM card allows users to change phones by simply removing the SIM card from one mobile phone and inserting it into another mobile phone or broadband telephony device.
SIM cards are available in two standard sizes. The first is the size of a credit card (85.60 mm × 53.98 mm x 0.76 mm). The newer, more popular miniature-version has a width of 25 mm, a height of 15 mm, and a thickness of 0.76 mm. However most SIM cards are supplied as a full-sized card with the smaller card held in place by a few plastic links and can be easily broken off to be used in a phone that uses the smaller SIM.
The first SIM Card was made in 1991, with Munich smart card maker Giesecke %26amp; Devrient selling the first 300 SIM cards to Finnish wireless network operator Elisa Oyj (formerly Radiolinja).
Reply:well yeah.. a sim card with no connection to the network can let you just turn on your phone.. but no calls, texts
Reply:umm i do think they work the video and the camera, but any other phone service (texting, calling, internet) will not work
