my friend gave me a vcast without a sim card. he told me his friend cgave it to him but im not sure weather he was lying or not. i want to know weather i can get service or not.

Since it's a Verizon phone, then it doesn't use a sim card. You can activate it with Verizon, but it will not work with a GSM provider such as T-Mobile or AT%26amp;T. Verizon's phones and network are CDMA, which doesn't use sim cards.
Reply:The Vcast means that its a verizon phone... it actually has to have a plan with them. the phone doesnt use a sim card because its not gsm. Most likely if he just gave you the phone its worthless unless you have service with the company. gsm phones can use any carrier if its unlocked but not cdma phones.
