Do all cell phones carry sim cards? Even if you can't see it?

I can't find my phone's sim card. I checked where sim cards usually are. I want to use my phone with a different sim card. My phone is the Kyocera KX160, not a very good phone but its ok. Is the sim card inside the phone, will I need to disassemble it to find the sim.

GSM uses sim cards, CDMA doesnt, the kyocera kx-160 is CDMA, it has all its network programming etc inside the phone rather than the sim card
Reply:not all phone use sim cards
Reply:No, not all cell phones have SIM cards. There are two main types of networks that are used, GSM and TDMA. GSM uses SIM cards, TDMA does not. If your phone does NOT have a SIM card you have a TDMA phone. Most carriers run on GSM, which is better quality, but there are a few TDMA carriers still out there. Most likely you will need to upgrade your phone and in doing so you may lose all of the info stored in your current phone unless you can find an agent to assist you in loading onto your new phone/SIM.
