Can you insert SIM cards in Prepaid Phones?

I am going to buy a Virgin Mobile Slice soon and I was wondering if I can just insert my SIM card from my old phone. Does the phone even work if I put in a SIM card?

Can you insert SIM cards in Prepaid Phones?
It should!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ask the people who work there.
Reply:I'm not sure about Virgin Mobile, but I have done it with a T-Mobile phone. And everything worked just fine. Your best bet would be to just call your Virgin Mobile rep or stop at one of those kiosks in the mall. They should be able to help you out.
Reply:yeah my tracfone uses a sim card so I suppose yes
Reply:no u cant insert sim cards to virgin mobile phones... its impossible
Reply:If you are in the US and Canada the answer is no.

Virgin Mobile in Canada and the States runs on the CDMA network - not GSM. In the US, Virgin runs on the Sprint network, in Canada it runs on the Bell Network. So the phones don't have a sim card slot.

If you are in the UK, South Africa, Australia and France - where Virgin Mobile uses the GSM networks then yes you can insert your own Sim Card provided that you have the Virgin Mobile phone unlocked first.
