I like the service plans with Nextel, but not the phones. So can I get a phone from nextel, and then just insert the sim chip I get with it in like a T-Mobile or Cingular phone and will it still work? Unlocked or locked? I always just assumed that the sim chips hold all the info and the phone wouldnt matter? But before I take any steps, I wanna be sure.

Nextel uses iDEN technology, as opposed to GSM (Cingular %26amp; T-Mobile). They are completely different, so you cannot use a Nextel sim card on a different carriers phone.
