I currently have T-mobile and i wanted a new phone. Is it possible to just switch the SIM cards?

I was thinking i could just buy a phone from ebay or from a friend and then just switch the SIM cards, because to upgrade through T-mobile costs way over the price of the phone (it costs like $300)

You can do this but you have to make sure it's the same brand of phone. If you buy a different brand and try to use your SIM card, it won't work.
Reply:yeah you can all you have to do is buy a cheap phone or something and from any companys with sim-cards and then you switch out sim-cards and if its from a different company then all you have to do is look in the internet for a "unlock code" and such names as that and then you find the new phones name and put it in and put the code given in the phone then use it.

Reply:Yea you can just switch your sim if the phone is jusy t-mobile only but if it is unlocked call your service provider.
