I heard that you can put t-mobile sim cards into cingular phones without unlocking them is this true?
Phones that have a branding by a network, for example a RAZR that has a Cingular name on it, are generally locked to discourage you from switching networks. But people have found a way to unlock it so you can use it with other GSM-based networks not just here but even around the world as long as your phone is at least a tri-band.





So, a T-mobile SIM will NOT work on a Cingular phone that is LOCKED.





But you can get your phone unlocked by phone retailers, not the Cingular store kind, for cheap...about $10-$20.
Reply:I know that u can install a cingular card into a tmobile cell phone and it'll stil l work. Or vice versa.
Reply:No you have to unlock the phone first. all cingular/AT%26amp;T phones are locked before sale.
